China’s Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) is set to land a series of up to 10 LNG-fuelled capesize bulk carrier newbuildings worth more than $600m, which will be chartered by mining giant Anglo American.
Industry sources said SWS has been shortlisted as the preferred shipbuilder for the newbuilding project after seeing off several other Chinese yards for the business.
