The Swedish Club has warned its members that fixed cargo lights pose a serious fire risk.
They can cause flames or explosions when combustible cargoes such as grain, animal feed, wood chips, pulp and paper are loaded in holds.
"If the light is too close to the cargo, there is a risk of ignition," it said in a new report.
