AP Moller-Maersk and Grindrod are to form a joint venture in which the Danish carrier takes back control of niche feeder operator Ocean Africa Container Lines (OACL).

The South African logistics business of Grindrod Intermodal (GIM) and OACL will be merged with Maersk's inland container terminals into a single joint company.

Maersk will hold a 51% share of the company, which will have access to Grindrod's intermodal facilities in South Africa.
