Shipbroker Clarksons said today it remained confident of wresting $1m in sale and purchase commissions from ex-employee Tim Huxley despite a legal bid to slash the amount of disputed money held in escrow.

Clarksons is pursuing Hong Kong-based Huxley for allegedly breaking the terms of a six-month lock-in period after resigning from the broking firm in June last year.

The London-based broker claims commissions on a total of five vessels either sold or chartered were unlawfully pocketed by the sale and purchase specialist, in breach of employment covenants.
