The size and scope of Nor-Shipping is clear evidence of Norway’s position on the world maritime map but the continued shift of industry to Asia is also inevitable, according to DNB’s Harald Serck-Hanssen.

“Most industries today are gravitating towards Asia. It is just a question of where is the engine of economic growth,” he said at exhibition this week.

Serck-Hanssen, group executive vice-president for large corporates and international at Norway’s largest financial services group, points out that the shift has been going on for decades, such as how shipbuilding gradually shifted from Europe to become predominately an Asian industry.
