UK Chamber of Shipping (UCS) CEO Guy Platten has been appointed secretary general of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS).
The role was filled following "an extensive and rigorous selection procedure", the ICS board said.
Esben Poulsson, ICS chairman added: “This proved a difficult decision for us, as we interviewed several strong candidates.
"However, the decision to appoint Guy was taken unanimously by the board.
