South Korea’s Sinokor Merchant Marine has increased its LNG carrier fleet to 14 ships after finalising the purchase of a former BP-controlled, steam-turbine vessel.

Industry sources said Sinokor has this month taken delivery of the 138,000-cbm Merchant (ex-British Merchant, built 2003).

The ship had originally been rumoured as sold to the shipowner almost a year ago along with a sistership, the 138,000-cbm Singapore Energy (ex-British Innovator, built 2003).
