A new sales deal on the 40,000-cbm LNG carrier Laieta (built 1971) was about to be concluded this week after an earlier one to India collapsed.
Specialist brokers rubbished reports that the onsale of the former Maritima del Norte’s vessel has incurred heavy losses of over $200 per lwt.
They report that the ship was originally sold for $940 per lwt “as is” in Gibraltar.
