Fresh industry figures confirm that demolition volumes are substantially down on last year but the situation could yet turn around in the second half of 2017.
Demolition broker Edward McIlvaney’s half-year assessment of the market shows that 451 vessels amounting to 15.5 million dwt has been demolished in the year to the end of June, compared with 539 vessels and 28 million dwt in the same period last year.
