Contact has been made with a group of Nigerian pirates that seized 10 seafarers from a Turkish cargoship earlier this month.

The crew were abducted from the 8,900-dwt Paksoy-1 (built 1997) on 16 July.

The first contact with the group was established at the beginning of this week, through the efforts of the ship's operator Kadioglu Maritime and the Turkish government, the Haberturk daily reported.
