John Coustas-led Danaos Corp has bought its first ship since October 2014, following completion of a debt restructuring that allowed the company to turn the page on past problems.
As TradeWinds reported last week, some brokers identified Danaos as the buyer of the 8,084-teu Conti Champion (built 2005). The ship had previously been listed in the fleet of Germany’s CPO Containerschiffreederei, a member of the Offen Group.
