Thanassis Martinos company Eastern Mediterranean Maritime (Eastmed) has divested yet another ageing tanker, pushing forward with a drive to get rid of some of its oldest oil carriers.

Company managers confirmed that the shipowner has agreed to sell the 105,500-dwt aframax Super Lady (built 2000) to Middle Eastern interests.

The ship, built at Sumitomo Heavy Industries, fetched $11m.

This summer, Eastmed also sold a string of VLCCs, as well the 105,500-dwt aframax Seadance (built 1999), which yielded about $9.5m.
