Japanese shipping conglomerate Mitsui OSK Lines has seen its profits soar on the back of booming liner trades, despite a fall in revenue.

In the first three quarters of the current financial year, MOL reported revenue fell to ¥731.6bn ($6.9bn) compared with ¥867.2bn in the previous year.
