Italy’s Grimaldi Group has placed a $500m order with South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) for six ro-ro/multipurpose (MPP) vessels.
The 45,684-dwt ships are expected to be delivered from early 2023 to the end of 2024.
They will operate on Grimaldi’s services between North Europe and West Africa as replacements for older vessels that will have reached 25 years of age.
