Brokers said the company has signed up at Jiangzhou Union for 12,500-dwt ships for delivery in October and December 2016.

Last year, Auerbach ordered the first two in the series for $18.5m, with two options.

They will come with two Liebherr cranes and consume a quarter less fuel, allowing the company to save $3,000 per day

Auerbach was founded in 2010 by Alexander Tebbe and Lucius Bunk, who met while working with German shipping company Ernst Russ.
