Containership building specialist CSBC Corp is tapping into Taiwan’s interest in renewable energy to increase its offshore presence.

The yard will be one of the key companies installing coastal windfarms.

CSBC chairman Dr Cheng Wen-Lon says the yard’s future sales turnover should increase rapidly once work begins, involving around 800 units over the next few years.

“The Taiwan government is to do away with nuclear power from 2025 and replace it with green energy, including solar and windfarms,” Cheng said.
