Croatian owner Uljanik Plovidba has started trading under a new name as it seeks to restructure its finances after lenders pulled the plug earlier this month.

The Pula tanker and bulker company's banks walked away from refinancing talks and arrested one of its tankers, prompting it to file for "pre-bankruptcy" proceedings.

It is now operating under the Alpha Adriatic name in a bid to disassociate itself from its former parent, the bankrupt shipbuilder Uljanik Group.
