European Union naval forces have stepped their inspections of vessels off Libya as the country sees more ports reopen for crude exports.

Operation EUNAVFOR MED Irini is tasked with enforcing the United Nations arms embargo on Libya by searching vessels in the Mediterranean.

Aegean Oil’s 34,600-dwt MR tanker Arin (built 2004) and Interorient Shipmanagement’s 37,300-dwt MR tanker Kerel (built 2002) have recently been inspected.
