MOL Chemical Tankers has thrown down a healthy rate for a one-year charter on a MR tanker, offering a potential uptick to an otherwise stable picture for the clean chartering market.

A source with knowledge of the deal said the MOL subsidiary signed up to pay $17,200 per day to charter the 50,000-dwt Panagia Thalassini (built 2017), which is owned by Spain's Marflet.
