Clearlake is having a busy week in the medium-range (MR) segment, taking at least five tankers on time charters, including two on long-term deals with a purchase option.
Sources say the company has secured a pair of 50,000-dwt newbuildings from Central Shipping Monaco set for delivery next year. They have been taken for three to five years at $14,500 per day in a deal that includes a purchase option at an undisclosed price.
