Like its ships booked last year, the latest newbuilding, which is scheduled for delivery in 2017, has been inked jointly with private-equity player York Capital Management.

Sources say the vessel, which is understood to be costing $88m, is one of two options held at the yard by the Greek boxships specialist.

HHIC officials decline to comment, citing confidentiality clauses.

Costamare previously disclosed it had booked four 11,000-teu newbuildings at HHIC-Phil together with York Capital.
